Blair Kawa paints in oil & acrylic. She is inspired by the fragility of beauty, wonders of the natural world, and the rhythmic cycling of seasons. Her botanical paintings are meant to capture movement of light and passage of time over fragile flowers; a meditation on the transitory/momentary quality of our own lives on earth.

Her work is influenced by Japanese woodblock prints, stained glass, quilting, Southern humidity, & cut paper.

Working in oil, Blair paints children, pets, and loved ones with relaxed expressions authentic to their personalities. Her style is characterized by confident, loose brushwork and a "glowing" quality.
